Immigration Issues and CASA Advocacy in California

Sacramento Capitol_CASA Advocacy and Lobbying

In California, CASA volunteers, “represent the best interests of the children involved, and consider the best interests of the family.” Therefore these FAQs are written from that perspective, in order to help CASA volunteers in California advocate for children and youth affected by immigration law and policy.

CASA of Sonoma County is pleased to have the opportunity to be the official charity partner of the new 2017 IPA 10K Sebastopol provided by Destination Races.  The race begins and ends in at the Barlow Event Center in Sebastopol on April 15th and some of the proceeds will be given to our program. Check this link out!

Many times we are asked: “I am too busy to be a CASA right now, but is there anything I can do to help? I would love to help CASA but cannot be a CASA volunteer right now.”

Well, this might be a good match for you. As a way to support the event, we are asked to provide them with volunteers and in return they will be willing to donate to CASA. It gives us an exciting opportunity for marketing, PR and fundraising. The more visual we are the more people know about us. And that means more awareness of foster youth and their needs.

I hope you will help us by following this link and signing up. Every volunteer shift will raise $50 to CASA. We currently need 125 volunteers. I am excited to get involved allowing us to raise more funds to recruit more CASA volunteers which means more children served.
